We are solutions provider for the geophysical and geological needs of the oil, gas, and mineral community. Our focus is to enable our clients to have greater success rates while providing substantial cost savings, all in a shorter period of time.
We do this by first being strongly data-driven, that is, all results are supported by the datasets provided.
We leverage conventional as well as unconventional data, including seismic, DEM, radiometrics, thermal, specialized radar, magnetic, gravity, remote sensing, and well log data with cutting edge processing and integration techniques. This significantly reduces the costs and time to make smart exploration decisions.
Finally we use a collectively constraining subsurface model that leverage all local analogs and client data in able to provide the most informed view of the subsurface. This enables our clients to make the best decision on where to explore, where to lease, and where to drill.
LGT's team consists of engineers, geophysicists, and geologists with advanced degrees that have worked together over the last five years develop software tools and analytical capability to deliver these results quickly and securely.
We also have a number of collaborations with academic institutions, government, industry experts, and large companies to determine the best combination of algorithmic tools to optimize their needs of accuracy, specificity, and computing resources. We have performed extensive work for the DOD and Intel agencies and have won best-in-case bake-offs for locating certain "things" in a complex, noisy environment.

LGT believes that typical oil and gas analysis relies too heavily on a small set of measurements. For example, many wells are drilled based on 2D seismic and/or a few well logs distributed over a basin.
LGT strongly believes that the integration of both conventional and unconventional data sources - sources such as seismic, gravity, magnetics, radiometrics, thermal, specialized radar, longwavelength EM, and hyperspectral - can significantly improved subsurface insights and results WHILE lowering G&G costs.
LGT lowers overall exploration costs by rapidly focusing the exploration efforts to the most promising areas for both complex structure as well as hydrocarbon presence. The reduction of costs is threefold:
(i) less 2D and 3D seismic is required (if any)
(ii) The new data sets are commercially available (usually) and thus are much much cheaper than the cost of seismic
(iii) Expensive land leases need only be acquired over the most promising areas
Exploration success is vastly improved through the processing and interpretation of ALL G&G datasets such that each dataset collectively constrains the interpretations of all the others. LGT has developed an advanced statistical subsurface model that enables the collective inversion of all the G&G datasets so that the most statistically significant results are derived. Furthermore, LGT uses client-specific data and its proprietary database of wells and geochemical data in order to both "tune" and confirm the predictive power of the modelling.
Utilizing our approach of combining conventional and unconventional datasets in a collectively contraining model, along with tuning the model with known analogs, enables our clients to have superior insights and make better decisions on where to drill and where to focus their exploration efforts.
Solutions Solutions
LGT provides a number of solutions in order to meet the client's specific needs and situation. Our approach and processes are customized to provide the most value to the client depending their objectives and what stage they are in of their exploration process. Our solutions range from advanced reprocessing and integration of potential field data (say from a recent acquisition), to the complete planning and execution of an exploration project across a basin-wide opportunity.
While we plan and coordinate the acquisition of a wide range of data, we work closely with the client to ensure that all costs far outweigh the benefits of the new information. Many service organizations will "push" their data acquisition services becasue they can charge that much more for their services. At LGT, we first look at purchasing commercially avvailable data, which is ofter 10x cheaper than performing new surveys with airborne platforms or on the ground. This ensure you pay for exactly what you need, and not be upcharged for extra data or services you don't need.
If new surveys do need to be performed, LGT provides the most economical solutions throught our trusted outsource partners or whoever the client prefers based on their past experiences. Most of LGT's analysis does not require any "boots" on the ground until the end of the survey, where ground-truthing is an important las step for both verifying and tuning the analysis for optimal results.
